From the owner and operator of Murray's Cheese, one of New York's best-loved cheese mongers, comes Murray's Real Salami, located in midtown Manhattan's Grand Central Market. The shop opens Monday, November 3.
Murray's Real Salami sells cooked, smoked and cured meats including pates, rillettes, sausages, smoked meats, artisanal hot dogs, salamis, prosciutto, guanciale, and other products from domestic and international producers, some of which have not previously been available in New York.
Producers include Columbus Salame, Niman Ranch, Salumeria Biellese, La Quercia, Fra'Mani, Fabrique Delices, Vermont Smoke & Cure, Larchmont Charcuterie, Nueske's, Redondo, and others. In addition to cooked and cured meats, the shop will offer artisanal condiments from such producers as McClure's, Tracklements and Katchkie, loved for their ketchup.
If you're not a charcuterie pro and want to learn more, Murray's has added charcuterie classes to their ongoing education program so now in addition to learning about cheese you can also sign up for "Salumi 101" and "Season's Meatings." At their web site you can also now buy charcuterie products making it easy for anyone who doesn't live in New York or who simply prefers to shop on-line, including sending a gift of salami or guanciale to a friend.
