Fairway Launches New Website

On-Line Shopping, Recipes, Store Info and More

Many say that Fairway is the busiest food store in the world.  Visit one of their locations during the week before a major holiday and you will believe it.

If you're a fan of this shopping institution but can't always get to one of their four stores or you just prefer to avoid their legendary crowds, now you have some options.  Fairway has launched a new website that includes on-line shopping, plus lots of information, recipes and customer support.

The site doesn't sell everything found in the stores, but it does include many favorites:  private label olive oils, Fairway coffee, and many of the very special imported products found by the adventuresome Steve Jenkins -- including organic German honey, Fissi Hot Green Chili Paste in a tube, French dried beans, Pantelleria Italian salted capers, Fairway spices, and much more.

Also take a look at a feature called Discover Fairway which is a series of weekly in-store videos with various department managers.  The videos are all hosted by Dan Glickberg whose family founded the store more than fifty years ago with the original Upper West Side location.  Our favorite is the one with Peter Romano, the store's produce manager, because it captures the true Fairway ... ahem ... "personality."
