New York spirit drinkers are still mourning the closing of Red Hook spirits haven LeNell's. But if you're a fan and want a chance to get some last lessons in cocktail making, come to Astor Center on Friday, September 25 for a one-night-only bar night with bourbon expert LeNell Smothers before she leaves Brooklyn for a new venture in Mexico.
The event will debut the restored bar in the new Lounge at Astor Center. LeNell will be demonstrating and serving five of her own cocktails, at least one of which will include LeNell's homemade Rock and Rye. Here's what's on the cocktail menu:
- Fear and Loathing
- Mae West Royal Diamond Fizz
- Kohout Cocktail
- Dirty Helen
- Rosé the Riveter
Tickets are $20 each and include two cocktails. Additional cocktails can be purchased at the event for $12 each.
