between Houston/Prince Sts.

There has been a butcher shop at this SoHo location since 1904 but since 1982 it's been run by by Pino Cinquemani, a native of Sicily and a butcher since he was 9 years old.  He runs the shop with his two sons, Leo and Sal, and they continue to attract customers from both their downtown neighborhood as well as around the city.

What's great:

They make their own sausage and incredibly flavorful hot dogs.  Their hamburgers are made from dry aged sirloin.  They sell steaks from grass fed cattle that is a breed that originated in the Piamonte region of Italy.  This is the kind of shop that can get and prepare for you almost anything that you'd want or need when it comes to top quality meats and poultry.

What to know:

Pino's is in one of Manhattan's best food neighborhoods.  Within a block there's also Rafetto's pasta, Gran Daisy Bakery and Joe's Dairy.
