For four generations, Alleva Dairy has been owned and managed by the same family of Italian food merchants.  Today it remains a wonderful and authentic Italian market despite the changes taking place in its Little Italy neighborhood.

What's great:

Fresh mozzarella (salted and unsalted), fresh ricotta, salamis and soppresatas, fresh baked prosciutto bread, and perfect Italian cheeses including provolone and pecorino sardo.

What to know:

They sell an excellent selection of grocery items like grossini (bread sticks), pasta and olive oils.  Their splendid fresh mozzarella is also sold at Saxelby Cheesemongers in the Essex Street Market.
