With a major store in Dumbo and smaller one in Chelsea, Foragers sells organic and locally grown foods as well as ones produced by sustainable methods. Produce, coffee, grain-fed meats, cheese, and fish.

What's great:

A carefully chosen selection of grocery items, grass-fed and organic meats pre-cut or cut to order, artisanal cheeses beautifully kept and cut to order, wonderful charcuterie, and organic produce.

What to know:

The store in Brooklyn is far bigger than the one in Chelsea which is secondary to its restaurant and prepared foods.  While some of the prices can tip high, this market makes a dedicated effort to sell local and regional products from sustainable farms and producers.
