A wonderful wine merchant in Park Slope that combines expert knowledge with access to special producers and neighborhood charm.

What's great:

They have a wide and deep selection of wines from around the world but distinguish their inventory with an extensive selection of organic and sustainable wines plus special expertise in, and choices of, German and Austrian wines. Their practice of finding and working with small producers carries over from wines to sakes, Cognacs, Armagnacs and spirits.

What to know:

The people who work here are friendly, helpful and very knowledgable. At the rear of the shop is a door that leads to a welcoming plant-filled terrace where, weather permitting, they hold tastings under a grape arbor. Tastings are held every Saturdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.year-round (indoors when the terrace is not the place to be) and the schedule is posted on their web site.

They offer discounts on cases. Open 7-days a week.
