For four generations, Pozzo Pastry Shop has been adding to New York's waistline and happiness. This is an old-fashioned bakery that with pride and tradition still makes Italian rum cakes, butter cookies, Danish, croissants, and other long-loved sweets.

What's great:

Their Italian rum cakes are layed with sweet puddings, they make classic French pastries like Napoleons and eclairs in full and mini sizes, and their other cakes include ones made with amaretto, cream cheese and fruit, and Gianduia, the Italian combination of chocolate and hazelnuts.

What to know:
