Greenpoint
616 Lorimer St.
at Skillman Ave.

P: 718.389.2982

A neighborhood kitchenware store serving Greenpoint, Williamsburg and parts of Queens.

The shop was opened by two Brooklyn home cooks who recognized that they and other amateur chefs in their Williamsburg neighborhood had to travel far to purchase purchase cooking tools and supplies.  Opened in 2005, the store offers a selection of tools and equipment for both baking and cooking, and an excellent offering of cooking classes.

What's great:

Both basic items plus the kind of kitchen tools that home cooks dream about from the best loved brands, including All-Clad, Lodge, Rosle, Cuisinart and others. It's a great place for gifts, such as charming kitchen towels and gadgets.

What to know:

They offer a selection of vintage kitchenware in the store and sell a large selection of items (all new, not vintage) on their engaging website. There is a small but very nicely chosen selection of cookbooks.  They hold cooking classes plus very popular classes in butchery and knife skills.  See their web site for upcoming classes.
