One-of-a-kind merchants that's befitting of the expression, "only in New York." And it's all from China. This store, now with four floors of merchandise, has evolved from 30 years of commerce between China and New York City's Chinatown. They call themselves the first Chinese-American department store and their inventory is enormous.

In addition to non-household items like herbal products, teas and Chinese dolls, the store has an eclectic and huge variety of products for cooking and serving meals.

What's great:

Woks, placemats, ceramic dishware and serving pieces, mandolines and cleavers, sake sets and lunch boxes. One of the best values in the store are exquisite lacquer serving trays -- the kind of thing that at Barney's costs $500, here you'll find for less than $75.

What to know:

There's a tea room on the mezzanine level where the store also sells tea in bulk. The store also sells a very large selection of foods and ingredients from China.
