Karl Ehmer's shop in the Queens neighborhood of Ridgewood is the flagship store for a large enterprise that produces and sells excellent hams, sausage, wursts and a large selection of other German and eastern European meats and grocery items.

Karl Ehmer products are also sold in NYC at Fairway, Blue Apron Foods, and Fresh Direct. There are also Karl Ehmer stores in Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and in New York, on Long Island and in Westchester.
What's great:
Their pre-cooked hams are superb, their hot dogs are done in a traditional style with lots of flavor and perfectly spiced, and they make hard-to-find sausages and wursts like Cervelat. They have a robust web site where you can buy nearly all their products, including mustards, vinegar, sweets, and spaetzle.
