Whisk opened in late 2008 by Brooklynites to bring cookware, bakeware, knives and tabletop items initially to the Williamsburg neighborhood, becoming a valued resource to the borough. They are now located in the Atlantic Avenue neighborhood, having taken over the former location of the long-loved A Cook's Companion.

What to know:

They sell cookware, bakeware, knives, pantry foods like jams, tea and chutney, plus cookbooks, barware and tabletop items. They carry most of the major brands and adjust their inventory to respond to seasonal changes and needs, like pumpkin carvers at Halloween and turkey roasting tools at Thanksgiving.
