Food News: Building Your Bar - Cocktails For Beginners

This just might be the most fun DIY ever. Learn how to be your own cocktail maven at Astor Center's upcoming class called Building Your Bar: Cocktails for Beginners.

The class is on Monday, March 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at Astor Center, 399 Lafayette (at East 4th Street) in Manhattan.

As the course description promises, "There is a whole world of beverages just waiting to be crafted in your own home. In this intro level cocktail class, we will demystify the cocktail and show you the tools and basic techniques you need to make a proper drink."

Taught by Astor Center instructor and cocktail enthusiast Jenn Smith, a $79 course fee will get you one welcome cocktail, bread and cheese, and two hours of instruction.
