Knishes are a carb lover's dream come true. This bakery has been making them in the same location for nearly 100 years. They sell about 20 different kinds and sell from what is a plain shop with a small counter up front and a few tables in the back.
While the selection can be a bit inventive at times (pizza knishes?), the best are still the classic potato and the hearty kasha knishes.
What to know:
If wrapped in plastic wrap and foil, knishes will keep a week in the refrigerator or a couple of months in the freezer so buy a few extra.
